Well, I finished my run of steroids 2 days ago and I can already feel it starting to wear off. My constant headache is back and so is the non-stop drainage. Oh well, at least I was feeling better for a week there. I think I’m over the worst of it though *crosses fingers*. I have an appointment to see the allergist at the end of next month so I’ll be getting some sort of relief at that point. The doc gave me some Nasonex but I’m not taking it yet as it can slow wound healing and I sure don’t want that since I’m having my toe done next week. I’m stuck with MucinexD to get me through and although it helps some, it’s not nearly enough.

I’m still nervous as hell about getting my toe done. Hoping that I won’t be freaking out too badly. Not sure how I’m supposed to take a shot in my toe without jerking my foot away – that’s what scares me the most. Me jerking my foot away while he’s working on my toenail. Very scary to think about.

Saw the podiatrist last Friday. He’s gonna cut the sides of my big toenail back to the base then put some sort of chemical on the base to chemically burn it down so that when it starts growing it will start fresh and not grow out curved into my toe. Eeeeeekkk!!! He sure seemed to know his stuff but the thought of what he’s gonna do still freaks me out. We had scheduled for the procedure to be done this next Friday (the 30th) but I’m going to see if we can get it done the following Wednesday instead. That way if we have any questions or concerns we’ll be able to contact the doc instead of going to the ER and waiting for them to figure out what to do or worse, waiting for them to call in a podiatrist – waiting for a specialist takes forever.

Anyway, other than that things are pretty much the same around here. The steroids that the doc put me on are working miracles. I can’t remember the last time my sinuses felt so clear and that I’ve gone so long without a sinus headache. I’ll be done in a few days and I’m sad about that because I know that things will just go back to normal after I stop them. I’ve got to get back on the allergy shots if I’m ever going to feel any better. Hopefully we’ll be able to find an allergy clinic over on this side of town, that’s why I quit getting the shots in the first place. It was just too hard to get me across town with hubby in school and only one car. Although it might be easier now with my mom not working all the time, she could possibly take me sometimes… At any rate, I’m feeling better now. I’m hoping my head continues to feel better while I’m getting my toe worked on.

I have an appointment with a podiatrist tomorrow. I’ve got a toenail that’s gone rogue. It’s not ingrown but it’s pushing really hard on my toe and it’s hurting. The only shoes that I can wear are sandals because they don’t touch my toe. My doc said something about the podiatrist taking my toenail off so I’m more than a bit scared about tomorrow. Toenail removal just sounds horribly painful regardless of how much they might numb you up. Guess who will be taking a Xanax before going to the appointment…

I’m still a bit sick but I’m one of those that gets lingering colds so no point in waiting – I’m already on antibiotics so whatever it is, it’s all viral. I stand corrected, it’s not going on my sternum, it’s going on my “upper stomach”. It will be starting between my breasts and then go down to about an inch above my belly button. It’s going to hurrrtttt. And then, if I can handle some more pain, he’ll work on my rib piece for me. If I’m not up to it then I can re-schedule and come back later on for him to work on my ribs. I’m soooo excited!! It’s 4:33am on Tuesday and I’m already all pumped up for Friday afternoon.

Haven’t posted anything lately because I’ve been busy and then I got sick. I was going to get a new tattoo but I’m still sick and I don’t want to get it done until I’m well – I don’t want to do it while my immune system is all compromised and I don’t want to be breathing my sickness all over the tattoo guy for like an hour. Plus it would be kinda hard for him to be tattooing my sternum while I’m coughing my butt off. yeah… he says he can fix the mess of a tat that I’ve got on my ribs. I’m super stoked about that!! It’s so blown out that I don’t even show it to people anymore unless it’s within the tattoo community and I’m asking about fixing it or cover-up work.

Both of the kids had “open house” at their schools last night. Hubby and the kids only made it to one kid’s school, I told him that was good enough but I think he still feels guilty that he didn’t make it to both. Oh well, he’ll feel better after some sleep. They were all pretty tired by the time that they got back home.

Well, I guess I’m going to wrap this up since it’s going on 2am here. Blessings to all.

Well, you’ll have to agree, meet the teacher day is great fun for all involved.

It’s in the 90s, raging humidity, we’re parking across the street and then across a parking lot and a dirt field at kid#1′s school – wheee! We lug his supplies over to the school where we meet his teacher – she is promptly whisked away before we get to really talk to her though so we end up standing around for 45 minutes until we can squeeze back in.

So we stop and pick up burgers because we’ve only got 2 hours before kid #2′s meet & greet. We go home and eat and try to relax some before heading out the door for more punishment. This time kid #1 stays home because the in-laws are home and he’s pouting about not wanting to go.

We get to the shindig and we can’t find the list that tells what kid goes with what teacher. So kid #2 & I are just hanging out when hubby comes in looking very concerned. He starts off down the hall where the classrooms are and I hear him say “No”. I ask him what’s going on and he tells me that our son has been put in a teacher’s classroom that the two of us are not particularly fond of. He and I have had some experiences with her before that were quite unpleasant and we will not allow our child to be in that woman’s presence for the duration of the school day. I can’t tell you what happened but she is lucky that we didn’t sue, her and the district. So we go talk to the principal and explain to her that it’s not just a little “personality” issue. They’ll have to figure out what classroom he’ll be in by Monday when school starts.

Holding steady at 25mg of Lamictal, will be upping the dosage to 50mg soon. I am liking this med so far. It mellows me out. I feel kinda Xanaxy mellow but ready to go do stuff which I definitely didn’t feel on the big X. I think it is suppressing my appetite too. I haven’t been weighing myself, that would be the logical thing to do, but I just haven’t been hungry the last few days and when I do eat I’m going for the protein, not the carbs. Maybe I was wrong to have been placing so much blame on the Abilify, maybe the majority of the blame should have been on the Zoloft. I have to remember that the sole reason I hadn’t taken Zoloft was because everyone I knew that had taken it had become fat and lazy. hmmmm at any rate, the bras that I have been currently wearing now all have to be hooked in the next-size-down hooks and I can now wear bras that I haven’t been able to wear in about a year. (of course this also has something to do with the other 15 lbs that I already lost) but hey, I ain’t complaining!!

I’m having a pretty good day today.

I saw my new pdoc (psychiatrist) this morning. He’s nice and spent about a half hour on our intake interview. He’s changing up my meds (which is a good thing) and they gave me a note to get out of jury duty. I’m starting my new med, Lamictal, tomorrow. I’ll let y’all know how that works out.

We’re going out to eat with my folks here in a little bit. Not so much looking forward to that but we’re going to Fridays and I really like the Jack Daniels Chicken Strips appetizer, I eat it as a meal. It’s yummy, and I have a coupon for 20% off at Fridays.

The San Antonio trip was okay. The boys had fun. I felt very tense and stressed out for most of the time. I should have eaten more Xanax, then maybe it would have been better. I did get 2 elephants – 1 stuffed, 1 carved and a dress and a… LOL We did the riverboat tour on the riverwalk and the dinosaur thing in the Rivercenter mall. The boys loved all that. We went to the top of the Towers of America and the boys thought that was just the coolest, I couldn’t take it though, I had to just sit, it was too much.
