Another Idle Idol post (country week)

Well, Alexis Grace got sent home last night.
I'm fairly bummed about it as she was one of my favorites. She has a beautiful voice and I hope that something comes out of this for her. I miss you already Alexis!
Okay now, on with the show…
Lil Rounds - I didn't really dig the song that Lil chose either and it sounded weird to hear her sing so straight with no riffs or fills (until the end). I wish she would have had a little more fun with this song or chosen another song that let her express herself better.
Scott McIntyre - First off, I wish that people would stop calling him "the blind guy"; IMHO that would suck. I would hate to be known as "the bipolar chick". I dunno, maybe it's not the same, maybe he's cool with it. Anyway… As usual Scott turned in a solid performance. The only problem I have is that I still don't think that he's strong enough vocally to be where he is in the competition. He's a nice guy and I feel like I'm being really mean but I honestly don't think he should still be in the running.
Danny Gokey -WOW!! He was just flat-out amazing! I think his version of "Jesus Take the Wheel" was better than the original. He often starts out restrained but once he gets going it's just beautiful. He has a power to his voice that is just yummy to listen to.
Michael Sarver - Michael is a tough one for me to critique; consider the fact that I don't even call him Michael, I call him Jasper (he's from Jasper Tx). I don't really dig the song that he chose but I think that he did a good job with it.
Kris Allen - The more I hear from Kris the more I like him. He's got more than chips & dip going on and I like it.
Allison Iraheta - She didn't sound like Ann Wilson this week - yay! The problem with the song that she chose was that she kept throwing the last line of the chorus away. I don't know if she was running out of breath but that last line is important, it's like a little exclamation point at the end of the chorus, but we never got to really hear it and it would have made a big difference in the song. That issue aside she sounded wonderful as always.
Anoop Desai - If you would have told me that some kid was going to sing the Willie Nelson classic "You Were Always on my Mind" I would have told you that it was a huge mistake to try to redo that song. But then here comes Anoop Desai with his smooth sweet voice and I have to admit that okay, it's alright for Anoop to redo that song.
Megan Joy Corkrey - Kudos to her for being a fighter and performing even though she had the flu. I'll tell y'all honestly - I really just don't like this girl and I don't know why. Her vocals are okay, no issue there. Maybe it's because she's just so girlie-cutesy. At any rate I know what it's like to perform when you're sick as hell so super kudos to Megan this week.
Adam Lambert - Is it possible for him to sing a song without having to hit those damn high notes? I guess it's possible but he probably won't since that's his schtick. I didn't mind the eastern version of "Ring of Fire" but why does he have to engage in such musical masturbation every single week? This peacock spends too much time preening.
Matt Giraud - What a beautiful job he did with his song. He gets better and better every week. Woohoo!
